Nova was founded by Anthony Staples and Dreams. Later adding on the Hicks brothers, EMH and C Smooth, to their group in late 2018. The group also have other vocal, producing, and visual artists that appear: Carrie Sunflower, John Kamel, Suneater Jerome, and Silver
Indianapolis/Bluffton Artist and Co-Founder of No^a. The fast paced, bouncy rapper keeps everyone singing with his catchy hooks and tight verses. Staples' personality is much like his production, fresh and calm melodies yet having powerful basses and drums. The kid is a triple threat by also being the sound engineer.
The technical artist from Indianapolis. EMH specializes in poppy, jingles that can vary to bass boosted bops. He sings, he dances, and is quite whimsical. The artist takes inspiration from his all-time favorite artist, Michael Jackson, when putting on a performance. EMH does tend to stay out of the spotlight but when put in, he will be sure to put on a show.
Carrie is the latest member of No^a, but she has been working in the background with the group. Her soft, powerful vocals adds a new layer to their gentle ballads. She may not always appear in the band's photos, songs, and videos but her element of surprise always places her on another level.
C Smooth has the most interesting role of the group. He is in charge of creative design; however, he spits bars from time to time. Hicks consistently has the slickest punchlines out of all members. The boy's carefree, yet colorful personality is just too hard to ignore.
Co-founder of the band, Dreams is the unspoken leader of the group. Behind the scenes he guides his team with photography, song arrangements, video concepts, and many other creative ideas. Dreams is the most charismatic member of the group and tries to express that in all the content they put out.
The Dreamcast EP is something very dear to the group's hearts, as it was the EP that truly solidified their "No^a Sound." It convinced the duo that there was something magical going on. Following the storyline of "3022", their first album, it was essential to their progression as a band.
Miscommunication isn't your generic love song, as it tackles the complication of sharing your feelings. The track features Maria Elaina who lends her narotic, soothing vocals for the closer. EMH being behind the clean production classifies this song as a benchmark in No^a's career.
As the title entails, "Seasons" explores the enjoyment of a new chapter and follows a romantic relationship throughout the EP. Seasons takes a turn in their sound by bringing a R&B/Soul style to the table. They also achieve a huge milestone in their production compared to previous projects. The smooth and soothing flow of tracks Spring and Summer with a twist of soulful background vocals. They are followed by the melodic, groovy and upbeat tracks Fall and Winter.
Present day relationships are difficult and No^a expresses that on this track, “Roses”. The story follows a lover who has finally found a compatible companion. They reminisce on past relationships and how exhausting they were. This introduces a new topic that not many hip-hop artists tackle: gratification.
The high energized track off of No^a's "Summer Ain't Forever" record. The song is about trying every day to get that breakthrough. The aggression on EMH and Dreams are noticed by having bold lyrics. This is complimented by Anthony's bright and catchy hook. The track also alludes their upcoming album, "Mindscape".
No^a's sophomore studio album, "Mindscape", was released October 30th 2020. "Mindscape" creates the story that revolves around the human mind. It's about the journey of one's emotions and how they cope with them. The album is celebration of fighting your hardships, chasing your ambitions, and be okay with who you are. "Mindscape" switches track to track without warning... just as the human mind does. This is the first album within the Mindscape Series.
